A Different Journey -
supporting those widowed at a young age, and their children

When people marry and say, “till death do us part”, they think that will only happen in the far, distant future. But what if that day comes much sooner than anyone thought it would? Many men and women know at first hand the pain and devastation this causes. They struggle to come to terms with their lost hopes and dreams. Those who have a faith may have particularly difficult questions. Those who are parents face having to help their children through incredible grief, whilst coping with their own distress. Many find it hard to go on.

Coming from a Christian perspective, A Different Journey seeks to offer hope and support to those of all faiths and none. It is co-ordinated by Joy and Bob Jones, who both lost their partners early in life.

A Different Journey produces a regular, free email newsletter. It gives useful information and helpful advice, and provides people with opportunities to share their thoughts and experiences.

Events
Weekends and days
These are a special times for those who have been widowed at a young age. The weekends and days enable those attending to meet with other young widowed people; take time out from the normal daily activities; learn from shared experiences; relax and enjoy the surroundings; talk, cry, reflect, laugh - and to do whatever is helpful. You can find out more about the 'A Different Journey Day' and 'A Different Journey Weekend' here.
